On Thursday, 12 November 2015 the final conference of the project ValidVol took place in Pisa, Italy. The conference has been held in the prestigious conference room of “Bastione Sangallo”, an ancient fortress of Pisa city walls. The Conference got the support from the Municipality of Pisa.

Participants in the conference have been 53 persons coming from Italy, Austria, Greece, Spain, and Northern Ireland. Some of them have been the validators, who participated in the ValidVol process in the partners countries, others have been representatives from Italian volunteering organisations, adult education institutions, local authorities, vocational centres, labour offices, NGOs.

The Greek partner of the ValidVol project, the Family and Childcare Centre – KMOP, organised the 3rd international seminar of the project, which took place in Athens, on the 18th of June 2015. The seminar aimed at the presentation of the validation systems for non-formal and informal learning, giving special emphasis on the competences acquired by senior volunteers during their volunteering. At the same time, best practices promoting the principle of volunteering were presented. At the end, the seminar attendees had the chance to collaborate in working groups, by participating in exercises, where they shared their thoughts and their experiences on volunteering. In total, more than 40 participants attended the seminar; most of them were volunteers, while there were also representatives from the Municipalities of Athens, of Piraeus and of Oropos, as well as from NGOs and voluntary organisations.

From Tuesday 20/1/2015 in the evening till Friday 23/1/15 a delegation from each partner's country spent interesting and joyful days in Upper Austria. Starting with a Welcome Evening to get to know each other and getting in touch with the Austrian cuisine, the 20 participants shared their thoughts and ideas on Volunteering and their experiences in their home countries.

The Family and Childcare Centre – KMOP, in the frame of the European Lifelong Learning project titled “ValidVol: validation of key competences in voluntary service organisations”, organises the 3rd international seminar which will take place in Athens, on the 18th of June 2015. In spring 2015 the piloting phase has started in all partner countries. In each country 20 volunteers 50+ will participate in the process to reflect upon their learning during volunteering. At the end of the seminars they will receive a ValidVol certificate listing their competences gained during volunteering.
